introduction
Hello everyone!
A little bit late on my introduction (computer recently crashed :S) but it's nice to "meet" you all! My name is Maureen and I'm currently doing a third term in MLIS, although only part-time this summer while I work full-time.
Introduction
Hi everyone,
This will be my final course in the MLIS program (about time - I started back in the fall of '06). I'm currently working at a special library, and as part of my job I've written blog entries and researched options for online reference service software. I've been interested in learning more about RSS and tagging, and I expect that a lot of the course material will have a strong relevance to my work.
Introduction
Hi everyone,
I had the opportunity to work with wikis and blogs during my last two co-op terms in a government library and I'm looking forward to learning about social softwares. Before my co-op I didn't have any experience with the topic, so I know from experience that the best way to learn about it is to jump in and get your feet wet!
Introduction
Hi everyone,
I’m just starting out in my second term here at FIMS and really excited to take this course! Other than following a few blogs of interest and an infrequently used facebook account, I have little experience using social software. Blogging is something I’ve been curious about for some time but have never taken that first step. This should be fun!
Hello and week one
I have always been an early adopter of new
technology. I remember seeing the Internet back in the days of the BBS and
the 14.4K dial-up modem. It was only a year or so after the CD amazed me
with a whopping 650 Mb of disk space. Now I use the Internet on a daily basis
as a source of information from tomorrow's weather, to this course, to whether
or not there is anything good on at the movies. I have some knowledge
regarding blogs, forums, chat and VOIP. I also have some knowledge of gOS, a new Linux-based
operating system that utilizes Google applications that are web 2.0 based.
Introduction
Hello Everyone!
I am in my second term of the program. I have never blogged before, but was always interested when I heard other people talking about it. I'm looking forward to learn more in this course and start blogging!
Hi! My Intro!
I'm glad to finally be taking this class since it was one of the ones I'd notcied on the course listings in spring 2007 when I applied and I was quite excited about it!
Although I avoided the BBS craze, I was one of the first people in my town in Newfoundland to actually get excited about the Internet. I spent a lot of time there and looking back, it baffles me now how much things have changed. Ideas like streaming videos, truly interactive sites and Web 2.0 would have seemed like a joke to me at the time--or at least wishful thinking, but here we are!
